Ramona Contreras

Ramona Contreras of Universal City passed away May 21, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on March 3, 1931 in San Antonio to Pedro and Natalia Castillo. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Pedro Castillo and daughter-in-law Maricela (Mari) H. Contreras. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Gregorio Contreras; children Gregorio Contreras, Jr., Anna Nedry (Mike), Victor Contreras (Maryjo), David Contreras (Isabel); grandchildren Greg Albert Contreras, Alan Daniel Contreras, Eric Jon Contreras, Melissa Leaver, Theresa Spencer, Elizabeth Thompson, Tony Contreras, Lora Contreras, Chris Contreras, Greg Contreras,; several great grandchildren; sister Maria Denis and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved talking to the grandkids. She could talk with them for hours and enjoy every minute. When she was young, she was a working mother working for civil service but her children always took precedence. She was truly a super mom and a great wife, but most importantly a great friend. The family would like to thank Dr. Devine, Dr. De and staff of the 3rd and 6th floor East at San Antonio Military Medical Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk, Universal City, Texas 78148, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Converse, Texas. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
