A devoted man of faith, he loved the Lord deeply and carried his faith with him throughout his life. He praised Jesus and trusted wholeheartedly in His protection, often pointing toward the sky and simply saying, “Dios.”
Prayer was an important part of his everyday life. He faithfully prayed his Rosary and prayed not only for the people he knew and loved, but also for those he had never met. He held a special place in his prayers for “los ancianitos,” always remembering the elderly and asking God to watch over them.
He was a caring and loving man with a heart of gold. He loved the simple pleasures in life—especially his tacos and his coffee! He also loved to talk on the phone, and those who loved him could always count on hearing his voice. He would begin his days making his calls, first to his daughter Erica, followed by his sisters and brother. Those everyday phone calls became a treasured part of life and will now be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his loving daughter, Erica Marie Olivares; his son, Daniel Jacob Perales; his son-in-law, Joey Olivares; and his beloved grandson, Noah Olivares. He is also survived by his sisters, Amelia P. Rodriguez, Maria P. Martinez, Sara A. Martinez, and Guadalupe A. Perez; his brother, Ramon Perales; his sister-in-law, Elida Ugarte; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Also left to miss him are his loving Chihuahuas, Babycakes and Chiquita, who held a very special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia G. Perales; his mother, Elivira Aldaco Perales; his father, Manual Perales; his brothers, Manuel A. Perales (“Velay") and Javier Perales; his sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Moreno, Margaret Torres, and Grace Bryson; his brothers-in-law, Tom Torres and Anselmo “Pache” Garza; his, nephew Ray Moreno, mother-in-law, Trinidad Lopez; and his father-in-law, Anselmo Garza.

His family will forever remember his faith, his kindness, his generous heart, his prayers, his phone calls, and the love he so freely gave. While his absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved him, there is comfort in knowing that the Lord he trusted, praised, and prayed to throughout his life has now welcomed him home.
