Richard, an Air Force Major and veteran, was a clinical audiologist throughout his 20yr military career and a graduate of the University of Tulsa, Phillips University, and Jenks Highschool in Oklahoma.
He continued his work in a civilian role with NovaCare and Midwest ENT in Evansville, IN, and after his final retirement, provided hearing screenings for the community of Newburgh, IN. As a 30yr resident of Newburgh, he loved visiting downtown to enjoy the historical buildings and activity on the Ohio River and was a member of First Christian Church and Knights of Columbus. When he wasn’t trying every burger joint in a 10 mile radius, he could be found at home watching Oklahoma Sooners sports; he also liked baking and made the best homemade pizzas. He loved celebrating Halloween with his son and grandson, Chris and Damian, and entertaining anyone in earshot with his unfiltered commentary. He enjoyed all things technology, particularly computers, and developed a software program in his spare time. In his earlier life, he was an avid camper, fisherman, kite flyer and musician.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Rosemary, his sister Barbara, and his beloved son Chris Prescott.
He is survived by sisters, Peggy Haynes and Linda Gaylord, daughter Annie Prescott (Roal Caesar), grandchildren, Tre Pike, Carlee Conner, Damian Prescott, Imani Caesar, Mateo Caesar, Kyrie Caesar, and great-grandchildren, Olivia Pike Ortiz and Tre Pike Jr.
Special thanks to caregivers Clare Prescott, Steve, Renee, and Stefanie Hicks, Heather Koberstein, Riya Arora, Barbie, Tina Quigley, Troy Cantu, Emmanuel Ingabire, and The Lene Family for providing companionship and care in his final years.
