Richard Ramirez Sr., age 63, passed away on Monday, June 20th, 2011. He was born March 23, 1948, in the Town of Robstown, Texas, to the late Joe (Pepo) Ramirez and mother Beatrice Ramirez of Yoakum, Texas. Richard served in the proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received a Purple Heart due to being combat wounded and was a retired disabled veteran. Mr. Ramirez moved to San Antonio, Texas where he raised his family of three. Richard is survived by his mother, Beatrice Ramirez; wife, Oralia Ramirez, his son and his wife, Richard Ramirez Jr. (Anna); his daughter and her husband, Annette Villegas, (Richard) and his son, Marcos Ramirez; five grandchildren, Courtney, Walker, Savannah, Hunter and Noah. Funeral services for Richard Ramirez will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Christ, 2829 Ackerman Rd, Kirby, TX 78219. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be at Fort Sam Houston at 11:45 a.m. with military honors.
