Richard Wayne Stanley

Born May 6, 1956, in New Orleans, Rick was one of two sons born to the late Kathryn Annette Hubbard Long and Charles Lloyd Stanley, Jr. He was raised in San Antonio, graduated from Judson High School, and lived as independently as possible in his adult life. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Universal City. He was also an avid member of a special local plastic model club, where he earned coveted awards for his special craftsmanship. Rick passed away unexpectedly at home from cardiopulmonary disease.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his dear step-father, Billy Gene Long. He is survived by his step-mother, Laverne Story Stanley, of Live Oak; former spouse, Judy Leatherwood; brother, Charles Neal Stanley, and his wife, Lee Ann Odle Stanley, of Colleyville; sister, Lisa Long Miller, and her husband, Richard Van Miller, of Tega Cay, SC; step-brother, William Troy Holland, of York, SC; uncle, Robert Stanley, of Canyon Lake, TX; and nieces and nephews: Shea Stanley Gleason, and her husband, David R. Gleason, Johnathon Taylor Miller, Clayton Stanley, Lauren Nicole Miller, Hannah McKenzie Miller and Connor William Miller.

A memorial celebration of his life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Universal City, 1401 Pat Booker Road, with Pastor David Lindow officiating.
