With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Rosie Lee Ferrell, who took her final breath with an open heart, surrounded by her loving 4 grandchildren, on September 13, 2026.
Rosie was born on March 6, 1931, in Charlotte, Tennessee. She was the last child of Ernest Bennett and Sara Ingram. She was a woman of beauty, strength, and grace. She lived 95 remarkable and wonderful years as a force of nature, sweet, loving, and completely unforgettable to anyone she ever met.
She was a reverent daughter and caring sister. She was also a devoted wife to the late Billy Ferrell, her husband of 72 long years, with whom she traveled the world and shared so many unforgettable experiences. We all know she is so delighted to be by his side again. She was a proud mother to her son, Vince; a grandmother with everlasting love to Christopher, David, Michelle, and Brittany; a devoted great-grandmother to Grayson, Onyx, Harper, Lincoln, and Sawyer; and a generous friend to many.
One thing is certain: our parents give us life, but it’s our grandparents who give us a sense of who we are, where we come from, and our history. And if there was one person who could tell you the person, date, time, and every single detail of any memory/anecdote, it was her. She was always present, a part of our everyday lives in such a tangible way. It is that constant, loving presence that really shapes a person. To know her was to be seen, to be remembered, and to be loved.
She loved deeply and fully. She was the kind of person who just had more love in her heart than anyone could imagine. She was a true example of, ‘What is life without family to support you, to love you unconditionally, and to be at your side through the good and the bad?’
She is so much a part of who we are that even though we knew she would one day leave us, we can’t quite believe she is gone. She impacted our lives in so many ways. She shaped who we are and even who our children are and will be. She influenced all of us so greatly and because of that, there is not a single day that we won’t miss her. Our hearts yearn for her love.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Billy; her parents, Ernest and Sara; and her many brothers and sisters: Gent, Willa Mai, John, Bert, Louise, Pauline, and Christine.
