M/Sgt. Roy Conatzer, U.S. Air Force Retired age 74 of Universal City, TX passed away October 9, 2010. He was born December 10, 1935 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Roy and Irene Frances (Saunders) Conatzer. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served as the Sports Center Director at numerous bases including Chanute AFB in Ohio, RAF Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire England, Kingsville Naval Air Station and for 17 years at Brooks AFB in San Antonio. He was a member of various veterans organizations and was a member of the Choctow Nation of Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife Theodora Conatzer; sons, Paul Conatzer and James Conatzer; sisters, Betty, Louise, Mary, Sarah, Deborah and Dorothy; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and funeral services will be Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 9:30 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home with Deacon Clifford Friesenhahn officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Universal City, TX.
