
Mr. Roy “Sonny” Crawford Glasscock, age 85, originally of Cullman, Alabama, passed away in Live Oak, Texas on September 8th, 2015. He was born November 30, 1930. Roy graduated from Cullman County High School in 1949 where he was voted the best dancer. As a young man, Roy joined the Air Force and served from 1950 to 1954 and later married and settled with his family in Birmingham, Alabama. He spent most of his career in Atlanta, Georgia where he was the Director of Property Services and a corporate officer for Crawford and Company. After marrying Ramelle, Roy moved to San Antonio Texas. According to his family, Roy had a passion for the military service and for his country. He remained connected to the Air Force through volunteering at Randolph Air Force Base. He also taught AARP safe driving classes for 10 years. Throughout his life, Roy remained loyal to his Alabama roots, visiting Cullman frequently to attend family celebrations at the Blair home and high school reunions with his friends. Roy wished to return to Cullman upon his death. He is preceded in death by his first wife Maxine Russell Glasscock; parents Elva and Powell Blair; father Roy Glasscock Sr. and brother Jim Blair. Survivors include his wife Ramelle Ellis Glasscock; children Beck Glasscock of Brunswick, GA, Holly (Mark) Kozera of Rome, GA and his step children Randy (Jan) Harpe, Lake Mary, FL and Andrea Harpe, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Tony, Kelly and Katherine Kozera, Cole and Cannon Glasscock, Kiersten and Corey Harpe; brother Neil (Anne) Glasscock; Sisters Virginia Richter, and Jan (Jim) Witte.
