Sandra Lee (Palmer) Schulte died August 15, 2017 at the Northeast Methodist Hospital. She suffered a heart attack on August 10 and was recovering in the ICU but complications intervened. The daughter of Mary Isabelle (Jones) and Francis (Frank) Palmer, she was born April 23, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was one of the youngest in a family of eleven. On July 23, 1983 she married Michael Schulte in Ben Avon, Pennsylvania while he was assigned to the ROTC staff at Carnegie-Mellon University. Later they moved to Hawai'i, Turkey, and Texas where Michael retired from the US Army in 1993. Living in Universal City, Texas, since 1992, Sandra volunteered her services to Animal Control and managed one of the LiquorMax stores until her retirement in 2012. She is survived by her husband, son Murat and wife Sevda Tas, granddaughters Melodi and Melissa, sisters: Myrna Bailie (Bill), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Eileen Sipes (Jim), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Evelyn Sieffert, Pittsburgh, brother Oliver Miller (Joyce), Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers—Armand and Walter (Sonny) Miller, and Frankie Palmer, three sisters—Ruth, Audrey, and Olive, and most recently, her son Joseph Michael Myers (February 26, 2014).
Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering for friends, family and extended family, neighbors, and those wanting to remember her will be on August 30, 2017, Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Drive, Universal City, Texas. You are more than welcome to bring your children. Only Sandra's urn and her son Joe's urn will be on display. Sandra has some company for her journey. Four of our female pets' ashes--two Siamese cats (Chiangmai and May Ling) and two Doberman dogs (Katie, and Kayla Lili) have been added to her ashes.
Please join us at the memorial and if you desire, share a story or two about how you remember Sandra. Or join us and engage in listening to stories told by others. We thank you for your prayers, kind thoughts, valued support and just being there for us as we and you celebrate Sandra's life and sustain memories of her. If you are communicating with us or with mutual friends, continue to share a story or two. If you would like to share a memory online please include it with your online guest book entries. If you think of someone who may not be aware of Sandra’s death, please let them know and invite them to our gathering. Our family looks forward to seeing you and, of course, hearing these stories anytime.
