

Sharlan Kay Brown went to be with the Lord, March 4, 2010 in Cibolo, Texas at the age of 60. Mrs. Brown was born November 28, 1949 in Del City, Oklahoma to Cleo W. and Joyce Cook. Known to her friends as “Charlie” Sharlan was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 667 and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 4676 and a member of Everyday Christian Fellowship.
Survivors of Mrs. Brown include her husband of 22 years Robert W. Brown; children: Carl Berghofer, Mikel Berghofer and his wife Karissa all of Cibolo and Sherieta Berghofer of Universal City; step-daughter: Denise Gates and husband Lt. Colonel Jeff Gates of Destin, Fl.; step-son: Clifford Brown of Oklahoma City, Ok.; foster son Paul Adams and wife Shery of Cibolo; sister: Kim Kersey of Irving, TX.; sister-in-law: Susan Brown of Live Oak, TX; and 10 Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. A celebration of life will take place at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel March 11, 2010 at 4:30 pm, a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 667 of Universal City.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children Cancer Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
