Mr. Susano Ortiz, age 97, born in Prairie Lea, Texas passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. Susano was born August 11, 1923. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Macaria Briseno Ortiz, his mother Juanita Ortiz ,Sisters Amelia Perez and Dominga Verdeja and grandson Allen Ortiz
He is survived by daughter Dolores Ortiz Postel, grand children Patrick Rocha, Theresa Rocha and Raquel P. Rojas. Daughter Janie Rios and Carlos, grandchildren Carlos Rios Jr & Evyonne, and Armando Rios. Daughter Mary Sauceda & Juan, grandson Raymond Aguirre Jr. and Erica. Daughter Dalia Aleman, Grandsons Juan Alvarado & Krystal, Mike Alvarado & Dody, and Salvador Aleman. Daughter Janie Ortiz, grandchildren Frank Arevalo & Faith, and Lisa McClellan & Brandon. Daughter Susana Ortiz Muniz & Ramon, grandchildren Sophia Muniz & Edgar Garcia, Roxanne Muniz & Ramon Muniz. Son Joey Ortiz & Janet, grandchildren Naomi Jellison & Richard, Jon-Tait Ortiz and Emaly Ortiz. Susano served in the Navy during WWII from 1942 thru 1945 on the USS Guadalupe AO 32, his duty was a hot shell man. He was employed for 20 years at Fruehauf Trailers as a welder mechanic and retired in 1985.
He served as an Honorary Grand Marshal for the U.S. Military Veteran's Parade Association, 17th Annual Veteran's Parade and Wreath Ceremony on November 12, 2016 San Antonio, Texas.

A visitation for Susano will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home.
