

The journey of Retired Chief Warrant Officer Four TaMarsh TaMon Thompson began on 25 September 1976, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and sunset on 24 November 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He transitioned peacefully at the age of 47 years old, concluding a long battle with injuries he sustained deployed as an Apache pilot operating forward in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His mother survives him; Janice Summerling; grandmother; Bernice Nickerson; aunts; Lucy, Vinnie, and Patsy; his beloved children till the end; Tqchoice, Triztan, and Tay'J; one granddaughter; Rylee Thompson; a sister; Kareen Thompson; and a host of cousins, and other extended beloved family members.
Mr. Thompson was a leader, a great father, son, and brother, took pride in his service in the Army. He was an accomplished and highly decorated AH-64D Attack Pilot. Mr. Thompson, known affectionately as "Mr.T" and "Chief," was a talented monetized cartoon and action figure artist who dreamed of working for Walt Disney. Many recognized him as having a high level of clerical and emotional intelligence. His personality was witty and charismatic. He loved cars, advanced video gaming, and electronics. He was raised in the church and was an active member in service in many of the communities in which he resided.
Post-injury, his therapist and nursing staff defined him as a very respectful and gentle-spirited individual to work with. Many of his health support staff have become family, bringing their passion and support to the recovery and care of TaMarsh. His family appreciates all the healthcare professionals on his team.
