

Tess A. Capes passed away on October 14, 2012 at the age of 73. She was born on February 3, 1939 in Auburn, Maine to Glenn and Margaret Wagg Keene. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1957. She was a Airman Second Class in the U.S. Air force for 2 years, 2 months, 9 days; a homemaker for 51 years, 10 months; and worked at the base theatre for a year. She was a devout Baptist. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 25 years, attended both Ladies and Mixed Bowling Leagues, and was a PTA member at Rose Garden, Dobie, and Corbett. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glenn Keene Jr. and William Keene. She is survived by her loving husband, CMS Tilton Capes U.S. Air Force Ret., son, Wesley C. Capes (wife Lori) of Texas; grandchild MM1 Shane Capes U.S. Navy (wife Ashlen), great grandchildren Maverick and Irish Capes of Washington State; grandchild, Ttory Capes of Texas; daughter, Kathy Capes, grandchild Kara Winningham, great grandchildren Harlie and Corie Winningham of Texas; grandchildren Justin, Christopher and Casie Resendez of Texas; sisters Glenda Bright of North Carolina, Betty Brenton, Nancy Young, and Kathy St. Michel of Maine; and brother Howard Keene of Maine. A visitation will be held on Saturday October 20, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a funeral service on Sunday October 21 at 2:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Monday October 22, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
