

Trinidad Chavarin, age 88, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 29, 2014. She died surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 15, 1926 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. She courageously left her family in Mexico over 60 years to pursue a better life in Texas. “Trinita” as she was known by her friends was passionate about her faith in God and had a strong work ethic. She lived a simple, but full, life that was centered on family, church and friends. She was a wonderful cook and made great tamales, mole, and champurrado. She is survived by her daughters, Maria Pardo, Ana (Nestor) Sauceda, Blanca (Thomas) Gebhart, and her son Fernando (Norma) Almaraz. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10 A.M. At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX. Interment will follow at Selma Cemetery # 2.
