

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia C. Gomez, beloved mother, cherished sister, and passionate cook, who left us on February 10, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on February 10, 1961, Virginia touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth and generosity.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father Elias Gomez, mother Alberta C. Gomez, brothers Elias Gomez Jr. and Gerardo, and sister Rosemary Sosa. A devoted mother, Virginia leaves behind her daughter, Kaila Cantu, whom she adored and who was the center of her world. The bond between them was unbreakable. She is also survived by sisters Sophia Chapa, Mary Morales, Rebecca Marroquin, Esmeralda De La Cruz, Hilda Hernandez, Delia Landin, Margaret Pesek and brother Jerry Gomez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a woman who found joy in the simplest of pleasures, but none brought her more happiness than preparing meals for those she loved. For every special occasion, Virg expressed her love through her cooking.That was where she felt most at home, and her food was always prepared rich in flavor and tradition.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter and the countless memories she leaves with family and friends.
Services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:30 am with a rosary at 11:30 am. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery #1, 8004 Old Austin Road, Selma, TX.
Rest in peace, Virginia. You will be deeply missed, but your love and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know you.
