Wanda E. Tucker peacefully passed June 9, 2021. She was born January 18, 1930, in Russellville, AR., to Don and Lou Bates. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, sister Emily Bates McAlister and brother Reuben Bates. Wanda is survived by her daughter Linda Prater and husband Richard; grandsons Sam Prater and wife Talia and Nick Prater and wife Kimberly; great granddaughters Macey, Kamryn, Emerson, Berkley and Liana; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Wanda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great grandmother, cousin and friend. She loved and cared deeply for the people in her life and she could amazingly remember details of all their lives. Wanda was also a consummate business woman helping and supporting her husband in the building of his vision and dream of establishing a real estate company after supporting his 22 year military career. Yet she was also able to forge independent careers of her own. Along the way she was in sales at Walgreens, in service at RBFCU during its early years, a hairdresser and self-manager of their investments and finances.
A heart full of love and generosity, a sweet friendly nature, a laugh so contagious that you didn’t need to know the reason, you just had to join in her joy, a smile as warm as the sun, a work ethic beyond measure and an endless adoration for her husband and family will be remembered the most by all who knew and love her. She is beautiful deep down in her soul and took great comfort in God’s loving care, provision, and perfect plan for her life. This was especially evidenced in her faith, strength and perseverance during the toils of her last six month. Wanda was full of gratitude to the Lord for the blessed life she had lived with her “precious one” and “childhood sweetheart” George and for her family that she loved “this world full”.
