

Wilfredo was born on July 13, 1945, to Francisco Cruz and Baudilia Andino in Santurce, Puerto Rico.
He attended St. Philip's College, IBM College while in Puerto Rico and Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later retired after his military career. He also served as president of the Sunrise Association.
Wilfredo enjoyed playing dominoes, bowling, fixing cars, working on home projects, and cooking for those he loved. He was known as a talented handyman and a great chef.
Above all, Wilfredo loved his family, friends, and pets. He found happiness in life's simple moments and always made time for the people he cared about. He celebrated every achievement, big or small, and stood beside loved ones during difficult times. He had a special way of making everyone feel valued and welcomed. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, he made you feel like family. His kindness, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Wilfredo leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 54 years, (55 years on 06/25/2026), Maria Isabel Cruz; daughters: Airam Lebasi Cruz Andino, Maira Belisa (Connell Jr.) Brown, and Alejandra Banks; son: Wilfredo Jr. (Desirae) Cruz Andino; grandchildren: Makayla Isabelle Cruz Andino, JeVaughn Clemente (A’Kissesian) Brown, Christopher Jamil Brown, Annalesse Isabel Banks (Matthew D. Vargas), Wendell Robert Jr. (Emily) Banks, William Robert Banks, Zyreon Julian, and Zaria Juliana; and great-grandchildren: JeVaughn Clemente Brown Jr., Matthew Bernal Vargas Jr., and Corbin Robert Banks.
Wilfredo is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends in Puerto Rico, Texas and all around the world! Wilfredo was also embraced by his military family, Snap Charlie Cohort C5 and 6-29 FA.
A Committal Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, US, on July 7, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:35 pm.
