MSgt. William F. (Bill) Bassette U.S. Air Force, Retired passed away on December 17, 2012 at the age of 66. He was born on December 9, 1946 in Adams, Massachusetts to Alfred and Barbara (LaDame) Bassette. He was a CPL in the U.S. Marine Corp where he served 3 years and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in Vietnam. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Paul Bassette. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 Years, Mary E. Bassette; children, Rebecca Pearce, her husband James; William M. Bassette; Timothy P. Bassette, his wife Courtney; grandchildren, Brandon Bassette, Marie Pearce, Jamie Pearce, Elizabeth Bassette, Dylan Bassette, William Bassett, Jr., and Joshua Bassette; sisters, Barbara Oleskiewicz, her husband Joseph, and Bette Phelps, her husband Hap; brother, David Bassette. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
