Born June 30, 1959 in Watertown NY to Bill and Marge Eastman, Bill was a US Navy Veteran, and plankowner of the USS Yellowstone (AD-41). He was an active Third Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus Council 5967, and a licensed ham radio operator (KE5ASU).
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bill entered the computer field while still in high school, served in data processing in the Navy, and afterwards, earned an associate’s degree in computer science from San Antonio College. He was a current member of the Austin Linux Club. Bill was also a proud member of the National Treasury Employees Union #72, and a lifelong Yokota High School (Japan) Panther.
Bill embraced life to its fullest. He overcame many challenges in life, making his family proud of the person he became. Known for his contagious laughter, he will be missed by friends, family, coworkers, and Brother Knights.
Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Richard. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marge Eastman, and sister, Kim Igleheart, all of Universal City, Tx. He is also survived by an aunt, Sharon Meade and her husband, Gene Sochia, of Oneida, NY, as well as many cousins.
A Visitation and Rosary for William will be held June 2, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Colonial Funeral Home on 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Uinversal City TX 78148, with the Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM. A Committal Service with Full Military Honors will be held the following day, June 3, from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at Shelter #1 of Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
