It is with deep sadness and shock that I'm reading about Mr. Ward's passing.  I loved his temperment, gentle and caring demeanor, humble spirit, professionalism and the outward love he genuinely showed for his wife each time I saw them walking hand-in-hand in Rolling Oaks Mall or at Luby's. Chief Ward was the dearest mentor a new Airman could have.  He was the ultimate NCO.  I was better NCO because of his leadership.  Rest well Chief.

I was truly fortunate to have worked with Bill.  He was a good friend.  Always had time to help whenever needed.  All of the family is in our prayers and thoughts.

Chief Ward was a great co-worker, friend, and the biggest Cowboy fan of all times.  He will truly be missed.

Both my husband and I had the pleasure of working with Chief Ward. He was a true gentleman dedicated to God, his family and his profession.  After my first AFPC assignment, I frequently would call to enlist his help on a sticky matter and he never failed to help me resolve the issue. During my second AFPC tour, I enjoyed chatting with him over issues and life in general.  The world has lost a great man but ever since Lu died, he seemed so lonely for her. I'm glad God saw fit to reunite him with his bride.  May God bless the family as you enjoy your memories of a great man.

Bill, first was a Co-worker, then a Friend and a Randolph Chapel Friend.  Bill will be missed by many.  May God Bless the Family.

It was undoubtly an honor to work with Mr. Ward, he was a consummate professional, friend, mentor, and leader amongst all of us who have ever called themselves personnelist in the Air Force family.  He will truly be missed not only by the people that have worked with him but also by the people whose lives he has touched over the years.  RIP Mr. Ward.

Was only at AFPC for 3 years,  but every time Mr Ward would be on the floor he was always in a good mood.  He always had an answer to any question.   He will be missed by many.

It was truly an honor to get to know Mr. Ward.  He was a true gentleman and a great teacher. I learned so much about assignments from him.  He was always so patient, and treated each of us like we were the most important person in the world. He will be truly missed.  My prayers are with his family.

Uncle Bill was a fantastic man!  He was a role model to all who were fortunate enough to know him.  Our family here in St. Stephen, South Carolina will miss him!  I know that he is reunited with my Aunt Lu who was the light of his life.  God Bless!

I was fortunate to work with Chief Ward as a young Airman and then later as a SNCO.  He was the consumate professional and always someone I looked to as a role model and mentor.  He always had time to listen to a problem or issue.  He will be missed.

I worked with Mr. Ward at AFPC...he was the kindest man and always had the answer to any question I had...a true gentleman and professional... and now an Angel in heaven...

I lost my father early in life but Mr. Ward was just like my father to me.  Great man, great friend, and always a happy person.  I am very fortunate that God placed this man in my path.  What a hero.

I have often told my sister through the years she was so fortunate to have married Brock.  I would often watch Bill and Lu hold hands when we went out with them.  I remember on occasion when we ate with Brock's family it never failed that after the meal I would watch Bill lean over and put his arm so tenderly around Lu as she waited for her coffee.  I told Cindy that Brock had absolutely amazing parents that loved each other so genuinely and deeply.  Bill and Lu were a match truly made in Heaven.  After her departure a couple of years ago I just knew Bill would be lonely without her.  Now as much as Bill  is missed by all who loved and cherished him , we know that Bill and Lu are together once again.  As I looked at all the photos so generously shared by Bills family one could see how wonderful a life Bill and Lu had together.  Bill was truly one of a kind.  He had every good quality that God could possibly put together in one man.  He was a magnificent husband.  He was a totally loving and devoted father. I  know that as Bill crossed over the thin veil of life and the Lord was there waiting for him,  Bill heard the words " Well done My good and faithful servant." At that point everyone's much beloved Bill walked off with his sweet Lu into eternity together.  Now they are together once again. You will be so very missed Bill. The consolation of all those that love you so deeply is that your are now happy forever with your sweet and precious Lu. :)

Never heard him utter an ugly word towards anyone, and sometimes that would have been easy to do.  Always enjoyed talking football with him and learning about his "entourage" or "posse" he always watched the Cowboys with.  RIP my friend -- you'll be missed but not forgotten.  Bill Warner

We will miss you greatly my friend.  Few can walk through life and look back and say--I did a pretty good job.  God will reward you in Heaven for all the good deeds you accomplished on Earth and the numerous hearts you touched.

Chief Ward was always the guiding light for all of us as we grew up in the assignment world.  You could always count on him to lead us the right direction no matter what kind of crazy idea we came up with.  We owe him a lot and he will always be in our heart.

I worked with Bill at AFPC.  He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met.  He was always happy to stop what he was doing to help out anyone.  I don't know anyone who ever had an unkind word to say about Bill.  He will be missed!  My heart goes out to the family.  You will be remembered in my prayers.  Heaven's gain is definitely our loss.

There is a new Star in the Heavens.  Truly a gentle man you can use the word spelt both ways when it comes to Chief Ward he was also a true gentleman.  Once you saw that smile your day was improved.  God has a new mentor to teach the principles of his ways of life.  Your dad was always ready to help no matter what the project.  May the Lord comfort you in these hard days and may CMSgt Ward Rest In Peace alongside our Lord and his Son.

Mr Ward always had a smile and kind word for everyone he met. He was a great story teller, at AFPC and at the refill pharmacy. I bumped into Bill Ward about six months ago in the BX parking lot leaving the pharmacy. Even as a civilian, he knew it was not right to walk across the grass as many of us do. Bill told me his TI taught him well back in the day.  The Chief still set the example in    retirement. We will truly miss you Chief Ward. God bless and may your legend live on forever.
