Wonder Louise Ball Revels was the fourth child born to Charles W. Ball and Docia B. Shephard Ball. Wonder Louise was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Seguin, Texas at the age of six. Wonder attended Ball High School where she graduated in 1959. Wonder united in marriage to Joseph Hugh Revels on December 26, 1963. That union produced two daughters Docia Joanne Revels and Dawn Janette (Revels) Keane-Dawes. Upon her husband’s retirement from the Air Force, they moved to San Antonio where she joined Savannah Baptist Church. She actively served before her health failed. She ushered on the usher board, loved speaking at church events, coordinating and working in various service capacities. She was very instrumental in bringing others to Savannah Baptist Church by her testifying of her faith and love for her church and Christ. Later in life, she moved closer to home and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was unable to attend as often as she wanted, but her faith and love for Christ never wavered. Wonder and her family enjoyed many years of traveling when her husband was active duty in the military. Wonder’s last two jobs in which she enjoyed very much were at JCPenney at Windsor Park Mall and Kirby Middle School. She loved meeting and greeting her many customers and was able to help many others get employment. At Kirby Middle School, she loved working with the children and felt their need for her. Caring, sharing, and giving was where she found most joy and happiness.
Her beloved husband, Joseph Revels; loving daughter, Joanne Revels; father, Charles Ball; mother, Docia Shephard Ball; brother, Charles Ball; and sister, Dora LaVera Ball preceded her in death.
Sister Wonder Revels leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter, Dawn Keane-Dawes and loving grandchildren, Matthew Marshall Keane-Dawes and Ivy Louise Keane-Dawes. She also leaves behind her sister, Norva Lee (John) Durham; her uncle, Webster Sheppard (Ada Mae); her brother-in-law, James (Rosalinda) Revels; sisters-in-law, Edith Revels and Dr. Marjarine Revels, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She has had many special friends over the years including Jean, Lee, Joanne, Luke, Connie, Leonard, June, Mary, Audrey, Naomi, Erma, Pauline, Barbara, LaTricia, Scott, Carrissa, Jackie, Adrian, Rubert, and Jessica.
