Just found out that Mickey has left us.  So very sorry.  She was loved.  My condolences to her family, and to the rest of us as well. Fly with the Angels, Mickey.

Deepest condolences to Jerry and family. Mickey will be so missed by her Dunnett and Heyer families. Dunnett events won't be the same without her, and I will especially miss those late-night gatherings where she was the heart and soul of the ongoing conversation of all things Dunnett.

Mickey has been an online wonder-woman for years. A wonderful contributer to the Heyer list, a great volunteer when we needed her, and such a mainstay of our list. i know i have never met her in person, but i really wish I had. Her sense of humour and intelligence was clear from her posts. My condolences for the family. I will miss her greatly,thanks for sharing her with us.

I never met Mickey in person (only through email) but such a such a strong sense of her personality came through through her words I felt as if I  knew her.   I think the world is a poorer place without her and I'm so sorry for the grief her family must be feeling.  She touched lives all over the world through her emails.  I'm quite sure her dauntless spirit is marching on in the next world too.  My condolences to all who lived her.

Condolences to Jerry and his family on the loss of Mickey. I have great memories of meeting Mickey & Jerry in Brighton and Bruges. She was a live wire and such a kind and generous Listmom. We will miss her very much.

Oh, Jerry. What a light has gone out. I so loved Mickey in all her huge Texas heart. She did everything with such love and sincerity. I will never forget her in The Nikado and the great joy she always had in being Kathy. She was the most ardent supporter of Dorothy Dunnett who no matter how the rest of us nit picked could do no wrong in her eyes. Thank you for sharing her. Hugs to you and the whole family. She will not be forgotten.

Mickey was a wonderful warm hearted person.  When she was in the room, everyone knew it, and everyone felt better for it.  She will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to Jerry and his sons and grandsons.  It was such a privilege and such a pleasure to know Mickey.  I will never forget her and I will always treasure our few meetings and many on-line exchanges.

Over the years at various international Dunnett Gatherings, Dave and I shared such happy times with dear Mickey and Jerry.  She was a wonderful lady, and will be so deeply missed.  Heart-felt condolences to her cherished Jerry and Family.  None of us will forget her.

I was so sorry to learn of Mickey's death. We met through a shared love of books (Dorothy Dunnett and Georgette Heyer). Her love particularly of Dorothy Dunnett inspired so many people - as did her warm heart and wicked sense of humor. Her trips to Houston with Jerry to visit us were such a joy. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have been honored and blessed in knowing Mickey Thies and celebrate her life.

I never met Mickey in real life, but we were part of the same Georgette Heyer group, the "Almack's List" for many years. Her posts were consistently witty and funny, a pleasure to read. We will miss her and her "fainting couch" which many of us made use of. My condolences to her family.

Although I did not know Mickey personally, I feel that I had known her for many years via the internet, first on the Heyer list, and then on the Almacks List. Her bright sense of humor and imagination will remain with all of us - who can forget her generous lending of the fictional 'fainting couch' to any of the members who were overcome by emotion of one kind or another. My sincere sympathy to her family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I was so looking forward to being closer to Mickey when we moved to Austin. She was one of the first Dorothy Dunnett readers I ever met. I remember that day well. We met in Brenham at Blue Bell Creameries. I will miss her bright smile. Jerry, I am so sad for your loss.
