Obituary of Adela Peña Ramirez
Adela Peña Ramirez, 90, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Norfolk. Adela was born in Santa Cruz Ranch, TX to the late Juan and Juana Peña. She was also predeceased by her husband, Daniel M. Ramirez, Sr. and her sisters, Angela Silva and Clara Ramirez. Adela was a devout Christian woman, she was one of the kindest and most giving people. She was heavily involved with Cornerstone Baptist Church and was part of their Sunshine Committee. Adela was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend to her church community. She was employed for 26 years by the Navy Exchange at the Little Creek Amphibious Base in Virginia Beach, VA. Adela was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rio Grande City, Texas. She was also a member of the Sherwood Forest Senior Citizens Group. Adela also volunteered for 16 years at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. She is cherished in memory by her children, Daniel M. Ramirez, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, Marian Ramirez Harrison and her husband, Paul, Marie Ramirez and Cynthia Ramirez; grandchildren, Russell D. Ramirez, Gwendolyn Harrison and a great granddaughter, Ruelle Ramirez-Cohen. A visitation will be from 5-7pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Funeral services are set for the following day in the Rosewood Kellum Home chapel starting at 10am. Burial will immediately follow the services at Rosewood Memorial Park in the Chapel of Serenity Mausoleum.
