Alfhild Young, 97, went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2015. She is predeceased by her husband, William R. Young, Jr. She is survived by her nieces, Anna Tysor, Elaine McDaniel and her husband Danny; nephews, James Peterson and his wife Virginia, Charles Dodd and John Kelly; and other relatives and many friends.
Ms. Young was a Charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she was very active. She was also an accomplished artist and enjoyed many years of gardening. Ms. Young was a very caring and giving person who appreciated her care from all the staff at Marian Manor and Gentiva Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1051 Kempsville Rd in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy.
