Anne Glazebrook Tompkins

Anne Glazebrook Tompkins, 87, passed away peacefully March 9, 2012.

Mrs. Tompkins was born August 13, 1924 in Richmond, VA. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory are: her devoted husband of 64 years, James Langhorne Tompkins, Sr.; son, James L. Tompkins, M.D. and wife Beverly; daughter, Nancy T. Linkous and husband Barry; son, Edmund F. Tompkins and wife Judy; sister, Alice G. Gilleece; seven grandchildren: Stephanie Whitacre and husband Garth, Betsy Mills and husband Taylor, Ashley Walter and husband Kevin, Kelley Linkous, Katherine Swain and husband Wesley, Mandy Tompkins, Lucas Tompkins; and seven great-grandchildren: Morgan Walter, Emily Walter, Rebecca Mills, Emily Mills, Michael Walter, Jacob Walter, and Samantha Swain. Mrs. Tompkins was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Glazebrook.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Friday, March 16, 2012 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, VA. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Canterbury, 3100 Shore Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23451, at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 17, 2012.
