Anthony “Tony” Rhodes, age 68, passed away surrounded by family in his home in Chesapeake on August 17, 2023. He was native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a heavy equipment operator for Currituck Sand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Lee Rhodes; his mother Mary Bell; sister Debra Talbert; brother Billy Rhodes; his two sons Anthony Rhodes and Timothy Rhodes; two daughters Crystal Baines and Jen Sawyer; niece Jennifer White; seven grandchildren; wonderful aunts, uncles, friends, and other family members.
Mr. Rhodes is preceded in death by his father William Llyod Rhodes, Sr and his brother Joey Rhodes.
Tony had an incredible work ethic and was the light of any room he walked into. He loved karaoke, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Tony was quick to offer a kind word, smile, and joke to anyone down on their luck. He was the type of man to love and accept you as you are. Carol fondly remembers teasing Tony for being a Willie Nelson wannabe without the money.
