Apolinario ‘Paul’ Custodio Asercion was born on Dec. 6, 1924 to Manuel and Pomposa Asercion, the youngest of four sons, in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. He married the love of his life, Felicidad Castillo, on Oct. 21, 1951.
Paul joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and became an instructor in the U.S. Navy School of Music, achieving the rank of Senior Chief. He retired in 1976. Paul then became an insurance agent for Lincoln National Life. He helped establish the Assembly of Yah, serving as its President.
Paul took his final breath on Sept. 24, 2011 in the presence of those he loved, and who loved and admired him in return.
He lived a life of favor with his family, others, and his Creator and Savior.
His legacy continues through his children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach and again on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM with a memorial service starting at 6:30 PM. The funeral service on Sunday, October 2, 2011 will be private
