Barbara C. Palmer, 80 went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2012. She was born on April 18, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Albert L. and Ernestine Caffee. Barbara was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school and Bible study. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing the piano but most of all being with her family. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin R. Palmer; daughters, Dawn Oliver and Cheryl Palmer and granddaughter, Heather Oliver.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lorie Ferguson and husband Greg and Brandi Robertson and husband Jeff; sons, Neil Helgren and Brad Palmer. Barbara was blessed with an abundance of grand and great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 2 PM in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
