

Virginia Beach-Bernard Lamorena Mamorbor, Sr., 81, passed away on June 28, 2010.
Mr. Mamorbor was born in Paniqui, Tarlac, Philippines on October 26, 1928. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 21 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his first retirement, he worked as a barber at the Norfolk Navy Exchange and retired after 22 years. He was an avid gardener and cook, taking care of his family and his extended family and friends. In his retirement, he enjoyed dancing and hosting ceremonies for the Filipino-American Senior Citizens Society of Hampton Roads.
In addition to his parents, Adriano and Leonila, and three brothers and one sister, Mr. Mamorbor is predeceased by his wife, Amor Quiban Mamorbor. He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Quiban Mamorbor-Cortez and Bernard Lamorena Mamorbor, Jr., and his granddaughter Maria Huffstetler and her husband Wesley Huffstetler.

A visitation will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on Witchduck Road on Thursday, July 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on Princess Anne Road on Friday, July 2, at 12 noon, with the internment to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park on Witchduck Road.
