Betty Ford Hill

Mrs. Hill was born February 14, 1931 to the late Abell and Ruth Ford in Westfield, Massachusetts. She was a 1949 graduate of Lowell High School in Lowell, North Carolina. After moving to Virginia she became an active member of Haygood United Methodist Church. Betty was active in her community as well. She was a founding member of the Aragona Pembroke Little League Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Sentara Choral Group. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory is: two sons, Ronald S. Hill and wife Donna, Michael B. Hill and wife Linda; two brothers, Don Ford and wife Sheila, Johnny Ford and wife Ruby; four sisters: Carol Brendle, Jerry Lutz and husband Jim, Pat Walker and husband Harvey, and Doris Richards; nine grandchildren: Nicole Scott, David Brown, Danielle Hill, Mike Hill, Jr., Dawn Brown, Steve Hill, Jr., Gina Salisbury, Lucas Hill, and Larry Briggs; ten great-grandchildren: Mikeala, Bailey, Sophia, Briana, Porter, Joshua, Adriana, Christian, Preston, and Rylee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members. Mrs. Hill is preceded in death by her husband Bud Hill, parents, Abell and Ruth Ford, and three brothers: Robert, Thomas Dean, and Samuel Ford.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm, Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm Friday, October 7, 2011 at the funeral home.
