Billy “Bill” Pahl Jr., 74, passed away at his home on September 27, 2025. Born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on October 14, 1950, to Bill Pahl and Beatrice Mock Pahl. Bill lived a life of honor, dedication, and love.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he built a long and respected career, retiring with the distinguished rank of Master Chief. His leadership, commitment, and sense of duty left a lasting impact on all who served alongside him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jerri Pahl, who was his greatest companion and partner in life. He is also survived by his stepsons, Timothy McWhorter (Bridget) of Iowa and David McWhorter (Sarabeth) of Kentucky; and his beloved grandchildren, Kayla Wamsley (Jericho), Morgan McWhorter, Brinley McWhorter, Mackenzie McWhorter, and Kassandra McWhorter. His joy continued with his great-granddaughter, Aubrey Wamsley, who brought light and laughter to his later years; and his faithful dog, Sadie.
Bill is also survived by his sister, Pam Geffre (Don) of Wyoming; nieces, Julie Geffre and Lacey Brown (Keven); nephew, Luke Geffre (Sara); grand-niece, Audrey Geffre; grand-nephew, Zach Geffre (Gillian); and great-grand-nephew, Elliott Geffre; and his daughter from a previous marriage, Nancy.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man of quiet strength who deeply loved his family.
A Celebration of Life for Billy will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, followed by a graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park.
