

Bobby was a member of Pleasant Acres Free Will Baptist Church in New Bern, North Carolina. Bobby completed an electrical apprenticeship on October 18, 1971 and went to work for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 80. He left Local 80 in December of 1977 to work for the Department of Defense. In May of 1983 he took a job at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point North Carolina and in January of 1986 we left for Iceland for seven years. We returned to Cherry Point in November of 1993. While in Iceland, Bobby received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Bobby loved to travel. We went all around Iceland and took several trips to England, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Bobby loved meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and trying new food. He also loved fishing and being outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, Quail Unlimited and The National Rifle Association of America.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Everton Crosswhite and father, Norman Levy Ewell.
He is survived by his wife, Ann G. Ewell; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and John Matula of Virginia Beach, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Norman (NL) and Lois Ewell of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Carol Canady of Chesapeake, VA; in-laws, Linda and Mike Kelley of Lindside, WV, Kirk Grimsley of New Bern, NC, and Kathryn Grimsley of New Bern, NC; fourteen nephews; nineteen great-nephews; one great-great nephew; fourteen nieces; fourteen great-nieces; and two great-great nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 601 North Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, phone 757-671-1717. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 12:30 p.m. You may pay condolences to the family at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
