Brenda Hicks Maddy, 65, died peacefully October 24, 2014 after a long battle with ALS. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Charles Maddy; daughters, Jennifer Lanham and Jessica Millirons (Brandon); son, Justin Maddy (Stefanie); 6 grandchildren, Kaya Schissler, Crissy and Tanner Millirons, Avery, Emerson and Harper Maddy; sisters June Cereda "Rita" Hicks Farmer and Patsy Mustain (Larry). Mrs. Maddy spent her life living and working in Hampton Roads within Newport News and Virginia Beach. She was a gentle spirit and loved by all who had the pleasure of sharing her company. Charles would like to thank Elaine and Kyra from Sentara Hospice for their dedication to Brenda over her final months. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5pm on Sunday, October 26th at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.
