Carolyn graduated from Irvington High School in June 1941. She was immediately employed with Prudential Insurance Company from June 1941 until November 1946 when she married Robert Leroy Jones of Ottumwa, Iowa. Robert's naval career carried them all over the country. They settled in Norfolk, Virginia in 1955 and a year later moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
She worked in Virginia Beach School System for ten years, retiring in 1989. Carolyn and Robert moved to Ocala, Florida in 1996. In October 1999, Carolyn lost her beloved husband of 53 years.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Susan J. Epperly of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her sons, David A. Jones of Fleming Island, Florida and Robert W. Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; her granddaughters, Robyn Wilcox of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and Dani Ballard of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her grandsons, Kyle Epperly of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Bryan Jones of St. Augustine, Florida; 7 great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
A graveside service for Carolyn will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 10:00 am in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
