Charles Clayton Lastinger Sr.

Charles Clayton Lastinger, Sr, 83, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018. A native of Norfolk, he was born August 6, 1934 to the late Sol and Ansie Lastinger. Charles was a skilled craftsman, a Community Emergency Response Team Volunteer, and a Master Gardener with over 10,000 hours of volunteer service. He retired from Portsmouth Public Schools and was a member of Geneva Park Church of Christ. Left to cherish his memory is two children, Chuck Lastinger, Jr. (Debra) of Suffolk and Terri Meagher (James) of Yorktown; the mother of their children Jean Lastinger; 3 grandchildren, Lisa, Chris, and Tiffany; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christy Lastinger and his sister Mary Lee. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Geneva Park Church of Christ.
