It has been a year since Charles Wolfram took his final flight. I miss him every day!! The war/sea stories that I could quote with him and sometimes got long, I would love to hear every word and would listen as if I had never heard them before, just to hear his voice again that was always so full of life and joy.  Except for those very rare times I would be called Margaret in that special tone that only a parent who loves you could use.;) Dad you are missed more than you know and we work every day to help each other when something comes up that only Pop could help with. I hope we are making you proud and whispering in our ears when we need you the most!! We miss and love you Dad. Thank you for all you did for us and teaching us how to be heros!! Love your #3 daughter Maggie.

I had to the good fortune to meet and work with Chuck when I was XO of NIMITZ from 99-01. I only wish I had the opportunity to know him during his Intruder days. We shared a few laughs about our experiences. Thoughts and prayers are with the Wolfram family.

Chuck and I served together on the USS Enterprise for a Viet_Nam tour, the Type Commnder's Staff and QED Systems. He was a good friend and a very pleasnt person to be around.

Chuck, you will be missed by all your friends at AMSEC; Chuck was an amazing guy and never bashful about sharing his war stories. He and I often shared our flying adventures as I am a retired Army Master Aviator and obviously he and I had plenty of "there we were" stories to pass on to our non-aviator friends. That I will miss. Have not seen much of Chuck in several years, my loss. Hopefully he'll be waiting for me to be his co-pilot on a mission on that next flight line. God bless each of the family members, he was so proud of you all. Unfortunately I was unable to attend viewing but would be honored to attend his final ceremony at Arlington.

Chuck and I served together on USS Amnerica (CV-66) and worked together at AMSEC after retirement.  Echoing the statement made by all others who knew him, Chuck was a true gentleman indeed.  He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend and very proud of being both a member of the A-6 community and a Naval Officer.

Chuck was a guideing light for me while was attached to CNAL as it was known then.  He was, is and always will be a very special person.  Thank you Chuck for your guidance and friendship.  Most recently at the Oceana Air Show. To his family, we will miss him, yes he was sometimes, "to the point", but well meaning at the same time. Myfamily and I grieve for you as we have for all those other heroes that have gone before him.

Chuck and I went through nav school at Corpus Christi, VAH 123, and our 1st tour in VAH-6 together.  We were neighbors at Whidbey Is. during that 1st tour.  He was one of the most conscientious officers I have ever known and the ultimate family man.  We lost touch in later years, but he is remembered so fondly by me and all those who knew him.

Peace and comfort be with the Wolfram family.  Many share your grief with the loss of Chuck.  His departure adds another to the list of fine and professional Intruders who so loved to fly the wonderful A6 but have made their final arrestment.  Our paths crossed many times in the A6 community and Chuck was always a standout!

Chuck was a great guy who made being a Sunday Puncher a lot of fun. My sincere condolences to his family.


I am so glad I had the chance to know Chuck as a friend and neighbor.  He was a great guy and a true patriot.  Even though we rarely saw one another over that last few years, I always felt good just knowing he was one of my neighbors.  He was so proud of his family and my thoughts are with you.

Mr Wolfram was a patient of mine @ Virginia Beach Healthcare. I loved all of the stories he would tell about being in the military. He was a wonderful man who loved his family. I just heard of Chuck's passing. He was a true gentleman. We were togther in VA-35 1969-70 in A6s. Chuck will be missed.

Maggie:  So very sorry to hear of your loss.  You and your family are in my prayers.

I'll miss my buddy Chuck.  I worked wih him when he was at Signal Corp and before.  We had a trememdous working and friend relationship.  It's been a while since I called and for that, I am so sorry.  It's my loss.  I know the family will miss him.  (I loved his war stories during lunches together.)

I met Chuck either 1987 or 88 where we both worked at QED.  We sat across from each other and shared many sea stories and gerenally had a great time.  Since the two of us had just recently retired from the Navy, we had much in common which made our new friendship even more memorable.  Chuck made me laugh until it hurt.  Although we did not serve together, I know he would have been a great shipmate.  I share in your loss and hope that you find comfort in the all of the  memories have of him.  God bless the Wolfram family.

Barbara, Kathy,Susan,Chuck and Maggie, thank you so much for including me in your family and the support you gave me at the time when my grief for my dear friend was at its highest. I am glad to have been there when Chuck took his final flight. He made a peaceful launch with full throttle and perfect landing at a destination we all hope to reach someday. and when I get to heaven I hope he and I can continue our war stories that we enjoyed sharing so much. 
It is hard to say good bye to such a terrific friend but comforting to know he is free of pain and suffering.
