Clarence N. Swanner, Sr., 98, passed away quietly in his home on August 7, 2011. He was born on May 29, 1913 in Edenton, North Carolina the son of the late Jesse and Lydia Swanner. Clarence was the owner of Swanner Market for over 50 years. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ and Deacon Emeritus. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanette Rogerson.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Brenda Golden Swanner; 3 children, Clarence Swanner, Jr., (Chris), Faye Gobel (Gary) and Valerie Webb (Joe); 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 11 great, great grandchildren and 1 great, great, great grandchild; brother, Henry Swanner and sister, Lianae Brothers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 7 – 8:30 PM in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon in the funeral home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
