I met Allen for the first time on July 20th 1986, I moved here from Germany and he welcomed me as did the rest of his family with open arms. I felt like a member of the family from the first time we all greeted each other. Allen and I had many adventures together. I remember celebrating my very first birthday over here and he took me to a place that he called the mall (I had no idea what that was). I learned very quickly that it was a shopping dream and then he proceeded to tell me in one of the biggest stores to pick out an entire outfit. Oh boy, that took a while and was a lot of fun.
We went to a few Octoberfest celebrations together and he embraced my culture and enjoyed my cooking, he loved schnitzel.
I also learned to drive in this country in his little pick up truck and got my drivers license thanks to him. He was like a brother to me and always there for me and my daughter through the years. Allen you will be missed!

I have been friends with Allen for over thirty years. We lost contact for a while but talking to him again only reminded me why he was a friend. He introduced me to my very best friend. After my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when I would call Allen to cheer him up he would turn it around and have me laughing. He was always in a good mood. In all the pictures you cannot find a frown. I will keep all the family in my prayers. He will be missed but I am sure he has everyone in heaven laughing. He truly was the best of us.

My condolences are with the family that loved Allen. Although, I never met Allen in person however, I am really good friends with his sister Cindy. Through her I felt like I truly knew him. It saddens my heart to watch a family go through so much during a time like this. I can promise you this, the pain of your loss will never go away but in time, you will learn to be able to cope with it, I know this to be true. Laugh when you want to laugh and cry when you want to cry. That is all about the grieving process. Just know that my heart is with all of the family, if there is anything you need, just let me know. Much love, Gary L. Lane.

Anyone who has ever had the privilege of meeting or knowing Allen met someone that was unforgettable! I knew him in our younger years and loved him with all my heart. We hardly talked over the years only on very seldom occasions but I knew that he was happy and living life to the fullest as he always tried to do. He was funny, loving and so giving to all who came in contact with him. I pray that his family will find some comfort in knowing that he is out of pain and with his heavenly father.

I met Allen at Kroger and from the first time we met he put a smile on my face. Always making me laugh with his jokes clean and dirty lol. A man who shares stories about his family and how much he loved them. I remember he had went hunting and came home and made jerky and gave me a piece but he would not leave my register until I ate it and told him what I thought of it. He will be missed and never forgotten. I am so glad I was able to meet him. Thank you for sharing your dad, brother, husband, uncle, and son with the Kroger family.
