

Cynthia “Yaya” Farmer Gorman entered eternal rest on July 29, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on October 16, 1954, in Richmond, Virginia, she spent her final days surrounded by loved ones in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Cynthia cherished her family above all else. She shared 47 years of love, laughter, and faith with her beloved husband, Deacon Kevin J. Gorman. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Brandi D. Gibson, Sherri M. Gorman, Chris Gorman (Joy), Scott Gorman, and Brianna Gorman (Zach Larose), along with her treasured grandchildren, Lee, Eli, Thomas, Christian, Samson, Declan, and Charlotte, who were among her greatest joys.
A longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Cynthia was active in the Catholic Daughters of America, the Legion of Mary, and the Mother of the Eucharist Prayer Group. Her generous spirit was evident in her volunteer work at the local food pantry and her support of pet rescue. Whether traveling, serving others, or simply gathering with family and friends, Cynthia embraced life with boundless energy, a vibrant spirit, and a personality that brightened every room.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Ann Farmer; her sisters, Carol Farmer, Robin Farmer, and Mary Humphrey; and her brother, Jeff Farmer. She is survived by her loving sister, Gail Eatmon.
Cynthia will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in the perpetual light of God’s love.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:00–7:30 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
