Cynthia Frances Halonski joined her husband of 40 years, Jack Halonski, in heaven on May 18, 2021. She was known as Cindy to her friends in Virginia Beach and as Frances to her family. Cynthia was born in Hempstead, New York on June 4, 1936, to the late Albert and Johannah Bassono.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Christine Hall; son, John E. Halonski; daughter-in-law, Cynthia M. Halonski and grandson, John F. Halonski. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sister, Rosemarie and her husband, Jerry Perella and many nieces and nephews.
Cynthia did clerical work at the Newsday Newspaper in New York and worked with her son at the Garden Center later in life. She was an active member of St. Gregory the Great and St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
She loved cats, cooking, and gardening in her yard. She loved a clean house and was known for vacuuming, especially after midnight. She was a big fan of Dollar Tree, Ollies, Big Lots, and Roses where she scouted out the good deals.
Cynthia was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church located in Virginia Beach.
