Darlene Joy Wade (Calhoun), born on August 5, 1964, in Genoa, Ohio, passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 59 in Norfolk, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Paul Joseph Wade; children, Misty, Amanda, Nicole, and several others who looked to her as an adoptive mother; 5 grandchildren; Adrieana, Aryiana, Jahlyn, Addilynn and Izabella as well as her siblings Peg and Russ Krumnow, Sue and Don Applegate, Tim and Cindy Calhoun, Barb Dille, and Karen Baxter. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Howard Calhoun; mother, Beverly Lerhman; Stepdad, Walter Lerhman; and brothers Randy, Terry, and Roy Dean Calhoun.
Darlene was a woman of immense kindness and generosity. She lived by the words, "Be kind, don't hate, love each other," and her actions reflected this philosophy. Known for her caring nature, Darlene was always willing to help those in need, going as far as giving the shirt off her back. Her home was a welcoming place where she constantly reminded others that her door was always open. Darlene's love extended beyond her immediate family to anyone she encountered, always ensuring that no one left hungry. Darlene always said "If you leave hungry, that's your own fault!"
In her leisure time, Darlene found joy in gardening, painting figurines, and cooking. However, her greatest pleasure came from being surrounded by her family, cherishing every moment spent together. Darlene Wade will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her loving spirit and selfless nature.
