Demetria Palisoc Edwards

Mrs. Edwards was born in the Philippines on June 21, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Emilia Solomon and her husband John Edwards and a daughter Jessica Ching.

She received her Master’s Degree in Boston and served as a private school teacher in Boston and at Christ the King Catholic Church in Norfolk. She attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake, VA, St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Austin, TX, St. Hubert The Evangelist Catholic Church in Illinois. She was devoted to her faith and churches over the years.

Survivors include three children, Amy Villacorta, Yolanda Marland and husband Bill, and Alex Solomon and wife Fides; grandchildren Jeremy Villacorta (Michelle), Jennifer Hutcheson (Alan), Michelle Garcia (Kasi McCune), Jeffrey Lai, Darryl Villacorta (Christine), Joseph Lai (Anne), Aaron Villacorta (Kara), Myra Charlet-Garcia (Guilhem), Adrian Solomon (Sydney), Marianne Clark (Brian) and Liezel Haight (Noah); great grandchildren Xander Villacorta, Avery Villacorta, Andrew Hutcheson, Addie Hutcheson, Harlow McCune-Garcia, Colin Lai, Elodie Lai, Philip Villacorta, Ryan Lai, Josiah Lai, Oliver Villacorta, Hedi Charlet, Maeve Solomon, Vaeda Solomon, Vanessa Clark and Madison Clark; two sisters Gloria Layson and Opelia Oviedo.

The family will receive friends at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 7, from 10 to 11 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
