Denise was born in Florida and resided in Virginia Beach for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Altmann and Ellen Joreid Altmann and her husband William Henry Tiedeman, Jr.
Denise was a professor at Tidewater Community College for many years.
Survivors include her son William Charles “Charly” Tiedeman, Sr., and wife Adrian; her grandchildren William Charles Tiedeman, Jr., and Makayla Rene Tiedeman; her partner of seventeen years Burl Fisher; two sisters Lynn Strout and Barbara Dotterer and husband Jerry; one brother Richard Altmann and wife Becky and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach on Saturday, November 1, at 10:00am.
