Dorothy M. Bryant

Virginia Beach - Dorothy (Dot) H. Bryant, 84 years old, of Virginia Beach, Virginia peacefully passed away on February 26, 2011. She was born Dorothy Marie Bateman in Norfolk, Virginia, and lived most of her life in the Tidewater area. Married to Manuel F. Garcia, Jr. (deceased) she raised three children while being a dedicated housewife, loving and caring mother, and a wonderful homemaker.

Also known as Dorothy M. (Garcia) (Harris), she is survived by her three children, Manuel F. Garcia III (Karyn), Michael F Garcia (Leslie) and Gina M. Garcia; and her step-children, Diane H. Moritz and Robert L. Harris, Jr.; her sisters, Frances B. Putnam and Judy (Walter) Schultz; her brother, Jimmy (Vickie) Legacy. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Henry E. Bryant, preceded her in passing in 2009.

Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. Tremendous thanks to Sentara Hospice of Virginia Beach for supporting Dorothy and her family in ensuring a life-affirming passing full of integrity and blessings.
