Dorothy M. Rohanna, 97, went to be with the Lord on Dec 3, 2020 She was born to the late George and Clara Masland on her Grandfathers property called Maple Lane Farm in Holland, PA. She was the loving wife of 49 years to the late Paul Rohanna. Dorothy is a member of Haygood United Methodist Church and a former member of Christ United Methodist Church in Brookhaven, PA and a faithful church participant since childhood. Getting back into the workforce later in life Dorothy enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for the local McDonalds stores for 15 years until she was 70 years old. After 42 years living in Brookhaven, PA, she moved down to Virginia Beach full time in 2004 to live in her renovated beach cottage, 15 feet in front of her son. She quickly made friends and a wonderful life for herself in her new location until a fall prevented her from living independently; she then moved to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Dorothy was a member of the choir, the Christian Women’s Group, and the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the organ, painting, gardening and getting her exercise by taking walks on the beach. Dorothy was a very happy woman; she always had a smile on her face. She was also extremely friendly and was complimented quite often on her many different hats she wore anytime being outside the house. Dorothy was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert P. Rohanna and his wife Susan of NC, and Alan M. Rohanna of Virginia Beach; and 2 grandchildren, Andrew Rohanna and his wife Cindy, and Brian Rohanna. Along with numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother George H. Masland, Jr. and sister Alice S. Lyon.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for their loving care and support during our Moms' last 3 years of life.
