Douglas Edward Hahn, 65, passed away on February 21, 2025. Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Herbert F. Hahn, and his mother, Dorothy E. Hahn. He was born in Rockledge, Florida. Douglas proudly and patriotically called Hampton Roads his home for over twenty years.
Douglas was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in the Peace Corps, based in Nepal, before graduating from the Florida Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His passion for adventure and engineering brought him all over the world. Douglas especially enjoyed spending time in Italy. His interests were vast, and his thirst for knowledge was limitless. Douglas’s engineering legacy lives on through his businesses, Virginia Speed and EngineTec. However, Douglas’s proudest achievement was his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jennifer D. Hahn, and their children, Kara and Devin Hahn, Madison, Brandon, and Tyler Midgette, and his adoring grandson, Sage Hahn. Douglas is survived by his brothers, Jeffrey B. Hahn and Gregory F. Hahn, and his sister, Chrissy A. Hunter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. The family will receive visitors at a reception following the service at the same location.
