Edward Earl Barnes, 88, passed away peacefully October 22, 2011.
Mr. Barnes was born December 11, 1922 to the late William and Bertie Barnes in Wilson, N.C. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following his military service, Mr. Barnes worked for N&W Rail Road Company and later in Civil Service until his retirement. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are: sister, Helen Langley; nephew, Michael Willis two grandsons, Stephen and Michael Frick; granddaughter, Angela Curry; and great-grandchildren: Cameron Wilhelm Reilly Curry, and Kaelyn Curry. He is preceded in death by his wife Marilee Barnes; daughter, Carolann Frick; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2011 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
