Obituary of Edward Pierre Danet
The family of Edward Pierre Danet, affectionately known as “Flat Top or Eddie”, regret to announce he passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his wife Patricia “DeDe” and dog JoJo by his side. He was born on May 1, 1939, on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He was the son of Pierre Medric and Lucina Danet. Edward attended Saints’ Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary and High School. After graduation he worked at Bata Shoe Store, the Department of Education, DanRice Shoe Store (co-owner), and the Department of Labor until his retirement. After retirement he moved to Virginia Beach where he spent the rest of his life with his wife Patricia. Edward was also an usher at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Pierre Medric Danet and Lucina Danet, his brothers Pierre Marcel, Pierre Juliene and Louis Ralph Danet, his sisters Elvina Quetel and Uranie Danet-Blanchard, sister-in-law Angelina Pascua, son-in-law Stanley Quetel, and stepsons Ricky and Tommy Crescini. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Patricia Reyes-Danet and their beloved dog JoJo; his children Irene Maple, Charlene Bryan, Gigi Quetel, and Gerard Danet; son-in-law Denny Bryan; daughter-in-law Mary Danet; his stepchildren Reyno Crescini and life partner Ernie, Gene Crescini and fiancé Audi Miller, Jimmy Crescini and wife Jessica, and Michael Crescini; his sisters, Cecilia Danet-Olive and Alicia Danet-Vante; sisters-in-law Maria Reyes, Clarita Tolentino, Agnes Harris and brother-in-law Pablo Reyes; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, the mother of his children Valerie Ledee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close family and friends. Funeral arrangements are entrusted by Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. There will be a visitation at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA on Wednesday, July 6th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, VA. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all his doctors and nurses who aided in his care as well as Interim Healthcare Hospice as well as Agatha Peterson for her spiritual support.     He is also survived by12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, the mother of his children Valerie Ledee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close family and friends.
