We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Dillon.  He was a great neighbor and a true gentleman and he will be greatly missed.  Mary, Debbie, Marsha and Ed - our thoughts are with you.

First, let me extend my sympathies and condolences to Mom Dillon and the rest of the family.  I have so many fond memories as a member of the Dillon family, the cookouts, the Sunday chicken soup, and the family gatherings on holidays.  Mr. D was the epitome of the family man, respected by his neighbors, his coworkers, and his fellow church members, not only for his caring and attentive ways, but for his words of wisdom to all those within his reach.  I know that he paid extra attention to me after the death of my father when I was just 19, and Mr. D was there to back me up and gently guide me in the right direction.  Mr. D was a man of the Lord and it showed in his daily life, especially in the way he treated others.  All who knew him, talked to him, or sought his counsel learned to love the man for simply being honest and caring.  Moreover, each of us will remember him and miss him in our own way.  I can truly say I am a better man for having known him.  
Mr. D is now home with his Heavenly Father, whom he has known for many years.  When the silver cord parts, the spirit returns to the Father.  Ecclesiastes Chapter 12, Verses 6 and 7.

To my granddaddy...

Although we cannot hear your voice or see your beautiful smile.

My sympathies are etended to the entire family.  I don't have the occasion to see many of the Dillon family anymore these days, but I want each of you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that if there is anything I can do for you - please don't hesitate to ask.  Love to you all.

     God's Calling Him By Name

As we gather together 
and tears run down your face, 
let us keep our eyes on Jesus 
and the goodness of His grace.  

You may have lost the one you love 
and I know it causes pain, 
but if you were in heaven now, 
God's calling him by name.

He says He's glad to see him

I'm glad I knew Mr. Dillon when I was growing up.  It's funny, I called him Mr. Dillon while I addressed you as Mary.  Even when I became an adult I still refer to him as Mr. Dillon.

He taught me some things about respect and courtesy that I still remember and I think I'm blessed because of him.

I'm glad he's in heaven now he can rejoice with Jesus for all eternity.

May God continue to bless you in your time of grief and remember the promise of Jesus "I will never leave you or forsake you."

Edward E. Dillon was a man I oooked up to all my life.  He loved his wife and his wife loved him and I cherished that relationship as I grew up.  I always said to my all of my girlfriemds and now I tell my beautiful wife that I want to have what he had.  He was a good man, and a smart man.  I learned a lot of the things I know today from him.  I love yu Granddad and thank you for all you have done for me!  I will never, ever forget it!

Nothing I can say will take away your sadness - just know we care -

Mr. Dillon hired me at/for the United States Postal Service in Norfolk, VA 42 years 9 months ago, in which I have just retired.  Mr. Dillon was such a kind-loving and thoughtful person.  He always made everyone laugh with his humor and you would just even smile when you saw him.  The Lord gave him such a wonderful Son, Eddie, in which I can truly call him my Brother. I am truly blessed to have known you, Mr. Dillon, and I will see you once again in Heaven.
