

Edward Earl Dillon, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 18, 2013 while surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1924 in Plymouth, North Carolina, the son of the late James A. and Martie S. Dillon. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired with 26 years of service with the United States Postal Service as a Safety Assistant. Ed and Mary loved traveling. Among his favorites were Dolly Wood, Branson, Missouri and Atlantic City. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Norview Baptist Church where he served as sunday school teacher and deacon. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Peele; grandson, Samuel Esleeck and daughter-in-law, Rosalynne S. Dillon.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary K. Dillon; his children, Deborah Fenton, Marsha Nash and husband Chap and Edward E. Dillon II; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Grover of Searsmont, Main and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 7 – 8:30 PM in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
