A native of Seneca Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Edward Philip Sanderson Sr. and Ethel Mary (McMillen, Sanderson) Swinehart.
Edward was a retired United States Naval Veteran after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve #99, Masonic Rite-Coastal Lodge #57 of Lyde, Connecticut & Scottish Rite of Norfolk Khedive Temple.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alyce Rebecca Sanderson; his daughters, Mary Alyce Sanderson and Kathryn Ann (Sanderson) Sampsel and two brothers, James and Donald Sanderson.
Edward is survived by his grandson, Christopher Samsel; his sister, Joan Bells, and three brothers, George Sanderson (Patricia), Richard Swinehart (Lori), and Robert Swinehart (Monica).
A funeral service will be held at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home at 601 Witchduck Road Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 7, 2022 at 10:00am. Masonic Rites will be given during the funeral service. A Burial service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors.
